Student Mail Services

Mail Services Office

Students at the College of Charleston are provided the convenience of a postal office right here on campus!  We can offer you any service that is provided by the United States Postal Office and private couriers.

Student Mailboxes

Every student that lives on the College of Charleston campus has the opportunity to get their very own mailbox! To send mail to a student living on campus, please use the Campus Mailing Address.

New Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a College of Charleston mailbox during their orientation session, in which a key will be given. For students attending the last orientation session, you may request a mailbox number in advance. If you wish to do so, please email Mailservices@cofc.edu or call for more details. Only students attending the last orientation session in August may request a number in advance.

Returning students will be able to maintain the same mailbox number each year, while living on campus. For the 2009- 2010 school year, students will need to renew their mailbox in order to keep their current number. Please stop by The Office of Mail Services during Open Period for Renewal to submit a Renewal Form for your current mailbox. If you do not renew your mailbox during Open Period, your mailbox number will be re assigned to another student. For faster service, have the Returning Students Renewal Form completed before arriving to Mail Services.

Package Notification: Students will be notified by Mail Services with an email for all packages and deliveries to their mailbox. An email will be sent to the student’s campus email address immediately.

Mail Incident/ Theft: - If you believe that your mail has been lost, stolen, or compromised in any way, please submit a Mail Incident Report electronically to the Office of Mail Services.

Mailbox Keys

Returning your key: An Open Period for Returns will be announced on CofC Postal News for students to return their mailbox key and complete the check out process for their mailbox.

Students who move off-campus mid year will need to notify the Office of Mail Services and return their key as soon as possible.

Mail Forwarding

Students are provided with the convenience of having their mail forwarded to their permanent address or an alternate temporary address during the summer months. Please ensure that Residence Life has your updated address if you would like to have your mail forwarded. See Important Dates to find out when the service begins.

Mail Forwarding is also provided for students who graduate or move off of campus for a period of ninety days after the end of their mailbox term. Students are strongly encouraged to update all of their records and addresses to ensure fastest mail delivery.
