Student Information

Students at the College of Charleston are provided the convenience of a postal office right here on campus! The Office of Mail Services can offer you any service that is provided by the United States Postal Office and private couriers. 

Student Mailboxes

Every student living on the College of Charleston campus has the opportunity to get their very own mailbox! To send mail to a student living on campus, please use the Campus Mailing Address.

New Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a College of Charleston mailbox during their orientation session. Students who attend the final orientation session may request a mailbox in advance. If you wish to do this, please e-mail or call Mail Services for more details. Only students attending the last orientation session in August may request a mailbox number in advance.

Returning students will be able to maintain the same mailbox number each year while living on campus! 

Students moving off campus will need to checkout of their mailbox during the Open Period for Checkouts.  Notifying Mail Services allows you to have your mail forwarded for a period of time after you move off campus!  Fill out a Checking Out Form  and bring by to Mail Services during normal business hours. 

Students who move off-campus mid-year will need to notify the Office of Mail Services and return their key as soon as possible. 

Package Notification
Students will be notified by the Office of Mail Services via e-mail for all packages and deliveries to their mailbox.  An e-mail will be sent to the student’s campus e-mail address immediately.

Mail Incident/ Theft
If you believe your mail has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way, please submit a Mail Incident Report electronically to the Office of Mail Services.

Mail Forwarding

Students are provided with the convenience of having their mail forwarded to their permanent address or an alternate temporary address during the summer months. Mail will automatically be forwarded to the permanent address that the College has on file.  If you would like to have your mail forwarded to a temporary address during the summer months, please email Mail Services with your Temporary Forward Contact Information or stop by the office to provide updates.

All USPS mail and packages will be forwarded to address provided.  Packages delivered by other carriers, such as UPS, FEDEX, or DHL, will only be delivered to addresses in the Tri County Area.  All others will be returned to sender.

Mail forwarding is also provided for students who graduate or move off campus for a period of 90 days after the end of their mailbox term. Students are strongly encouraged to update all of their records and addresses to ensure the fastest mail delivery.

Amazon Lockers on Campus

Amazon Lockers (Bente and Discus)

We have two Amazon Lockers on campus. You can use these lockers to receive and return Amazon purchases only. These lockers are located in the following areas: 

  • Amazon Locker Bente – Lightsey Center Annex Courtyard
  • Amazon Locker Discus – Stern Center Garden, Coming Street entrance

Please visit the Amazon website for instructions on how to send packages to either Bente and Discus. The College does not have access to these lockers.
